Frequently Asked Questions About Emergency Dentistry

Dental emergencies include severe toothache, knocked-out tooth, broken or chipped tooth, lost filling or crown, dental abscess with swelling, uncontrolled bleeding from mouth, or facial trauma affecting teeth. If you're experiencing severe pain, bleeding, or have lost a tooth, call immediately for same-day care.

Go to the ER for jaw fractures, severe facial trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or facial swelling affecting breathing. Call an emergency dentist for severe toothache, broken/knocked-out teeth, lost fillings/crowns, dental abscesses, or gum injuries. Dentists have specialized tools and expertise for dental emergencies.

Call us immediately - time is critical (best results within 30-60 minutes). Handle the tooth by the crown only, not the root. Rinse gently if dirty. Try to reinsert it in the socket if possible. If not, keep it in milk, saliva, or saline solution. Never let it dry out. Get to the dentist as quickly as possible.

We provide same-day emergency appointments Monday through Friday during business hours (8 AM - 5 PM). When you call with an emergency, we prioritize your appointment and typically see you within hours. For after-hours emergencies, call our office line for guidance.
